How To Use And Show ‘Read More’ Tag On WordPress

Many Wordpress newbie users are unfamiliar and don’t know how to use the tool “Read More”. If you are newbie in blogging and using Wordpress as CMS (Content Management System), maybe do you want to display one paragraph or 5-10 lines of your post into your blog main page and want to open the whole blog post by clicking on “Read More” or “Read the rest of this entry »” button.


The solution is the default and powerful feature of Wordpress called “Read More” tag. If you notice at all my blog post at my main blog, all my blog post here have partial post and you should click on “Read the rest of this entry »” to view the whole blog post. I am doing this to show only a summary of my blogpost at main blog and to increase also the pageview of my blog.


How to add “Add More” tag to your blog post


After you finished your blog post, just select where you want to cut your blog post which will appear only on your main blog. Now, just click on the “Read More” icon, you will see the line that have a text “More…”. Just click on Publish, then you will now the effect of “Read More” tag to your main blog.


Other Method:


After you write a blog post, click on HTML (at the right side of “Visual” ). Choose where you want to cut off your blog post. Just click on the “more” button or Insert this code: < !–more– >
